    • Apparently that is a default power management setting for Sony and can be changed in the VAIO control center by selecting the battery function.

    • This may be off-topic. But just wanted to get this out to people who are experiencing third party batteries (or in my case, "official" Sony battery) problem and have exhausted all other possible software solutions should check their BIOS setting and turn off TPM. This being prevented my machine from recognizing the battery (even the official replacement) as turning on the machine while battery is inserted. All I can say at this point is that I would give serious consideration before buying another Sony laptop.
