  • Yes, but CrowdStrike also has a seat minimum that is much higher than our org's seat count.

  • We previously used another company's XDR product, but it ended up being a bit redundant with our existing security stack, and ended up causing a base windows 10 image at the desktop to use over 8GB of RAM without anything open. At the time, our existing fleet was standardized on only having a total of 8GB, so it was quite a struggle for a while. We've since moved to 16GB as standard, but got rid of the XDR software.

  • Jrx1216 We started standardizing on 16GB of RAM for new Windows 10 machines as of last year.  The cost premium wasn't great over 8GB and the benefits have been realized for both IT and end-users.

Yep, it's been a massive improvement overall. I think it's been ~2 years since we made that change at this point... Now we've got some Accounting folks that "need" 32GB, though, haha! I think there's only maybe 2 people that actually do, but they control the money so they get whatever they want.

  • If you're trying buy direct from Crowdstrike, that may be true (25 seats, minimum IIRC), but there are lots of providers who will offer you CS solutions for a lower seat count.
