  • Between your two options you’re correct “<company> manage services” would offer more breadth than just “<company> support” a third option on more neutral ground would be “<company> Solutions” it advocates you as problem solvers.

But is appending a qualifier to the end of your business needed however? I’ve seen many MSPs roll with just a name (I’ve even seen one that was based off a colour and type of fish that had no reference to IT whatsoever - it still stands out in my mind to this day and I last interacted with them 10 years ago)

  • I'd simplify it and just use <company> instead of appending support or managed services to the name. Keep it a simple 1 word name for the company if you can. Of all the IT jobs I've had so far those with a single name seem to stand out easiest as well as once you have domain names in play I'd rather type our company.com instead of companysupport.com or companymanagedservices.com

I hope you're starting to see my point. For phone etiquette everyone would rather just say "<company>, how may I assist?" instead of the long winded name. Now there's floods of ideas coming as to why you would have managed clients versus a one-off support request. But keep it simple and your website and or business cards can tell potential clients what type of business/services you provide. Good luck!
