  • I attended a DR seminar once.

The speaker started with "This is how you start, and develop, and maintain, and refresh every year, your comapny DR plan:"

Your building just burned to the ground, nothing is savagable.

    Now.

    Run your company.

    Check book?

    Money access?

Customer info (to infomr them) data?

Employees - how do you deal and pay them? Keep them working?

    Temp site?

    Computers?

    Pencils and Pens?

    etc etc.

I have given a few seminars and consultations.

I always use that. I love watching executives blanch.

And then we have a productive session

    • Everybody does backups, but what people really want are restores.

Beware of "write-only" media -- when your backup appears to be successful, but you can't actually restore the data. This is why you test.
