Not really. You can treat it like a dumb switch. Whatever untagged vlan you assign to the port you connect it to on the first switch will be the only LAN it has. Managed switches act as a dumb switch until configured otherwise. I would recommend setting an ip and setting a username and password for it and recording it's ip, mac and the username and password.
I have two 2960 switches. The primary sits behind the router and is configured with 4 vlans.
The 2nd switch is not configured but looking to connect it via fiber to the first switch.
My question is do I need to configure the 2nd switch and if so how should I configure it?
