We have quite a frustrating problem that we just can't seem to fix for everyone.
We use RingCentral MVP softphone for all internal & external telephony and when making or answering a call there is a delay after clicking the answer/dial button, but this delay only occurs when the user is docked into their dual monitor setup. E.G When you answer a call on RingCentral, it will not react for 5-10 seconds (as if the software freezes) then the call will suddenly be connected and the dialler might already be talking on their end. The same for outbound, you punch a number in and click dial, then it doesn't dial/ring/connect for 5-10 seconds.
This only happens when the user is docked with the second monitor turned on. If we turn off the second monitor, it doesn't occur. After much messing around with drivers & firmware we thought we'd finally fixed it via an audio firmware update on the second monitor, but it's now reoccurring intermittently for some people.
Now, I must add, RingCentral support have actually identified this as a Product Known Issue and are 'actively investigating', but I'm convinced this must be fixable because we've resolved it for some.
- HP E243D Monitor with E243M second monitor (daisy-chained with DisplayPort). All firmware installed on both monitors.
- Windows 10 21H2 laptops with fully updated firmware, BIOS and optional updates.
- RingCentral MVP desktop application/softphone
We dock to the monitors with USB-C. Have also tried ThunderBolt cables to see if that improves anything, no joy.
As mentioned, if I switch off the E243M monitor then the issue does not occur.
What else can I try to troubleshoot this issue? I currently have the issues on my own desk setup.
Any ideas what else I can try, or is this really just an issue with the application?
