  • Hello, if I am understanding correctly, you just want a way to track the bullet points you mentioned (and possibly more). If it is something that simple maybe just an excel spreadsheet to keep track or a google sheet but if you advance (as in more bullet points, more staff, etc. things to track) I would recommend using Mondayboard. Its project management software or SmartSheet is another project management software.

  • Contact a local MSP and see what they offer. I am a 1 person shop as well but do my own imaging. Our MSP will do it for a fee. Also, depending on if you want to start using a VAR, they can provide the service as well. You have to take into account how many systems you are reimaging to decide which one will be worth it.

  • As you're considering only Dell notebooks, you should lookup for Dell partners. They have established a partner channel for such and other purposes. You did mention the size of your IT department but not the size of your organization, nor number / volume of annual devices, nor your geographical location. For the US, Dell offers a partner locator service here. You may select a different continental region if your location is somewhere else and find the appropriate navigation on the top right navigation area of that web page. And as you already have a Dell account, you may find additional resources there too. (I don't have a Dell account.)

Chris has already mentioned that MSPs and VARs are offering similar services too. I was also working for a larger global corporation using a subset of such services by a cooperation with an IT leasing company as the corporation decided to use only leased notebooks and PCs for standard workplaces and standard configurations. The cooperation between the corporation and the leasing company offered a web shop on the Intranet of the corporation to offer only approved models and approved configuration options as agreed twice per year in a review meeting and update between concerned stakeholders of corporation and leasing company. I guess such service could have included imaging as well if desired (which was not desired by the corporation).

    • Do you accept any Dell notebook for your business as I don't see that part of purchase process included in the scope of your request and limiting such choices may be helpful to limit efforts for maintenance after the purchase (and limit also efforts for imaging)?
