  • We haven't yet, but all new purchases will be Apple Silicon going forward. We've got several months until that time comes though and we'll start allowing others to upgrade to Big Sur then. For now we're still on Catalina and Mojave (where required by certain software).

  • Our next round of lease this summer is all M1. Will be having a mix of Intel and M1 so I am getting JAMF setup for packages for this.

  • We had a new employee start last month and we got our first M1 in.  So far so good and seems to be playing nice with environment.  We are upgrading another user within the month,

  • We're trying to prevent our users from upgrading from catalina, but some have done so on intel macs, and the performance hit is significant (mostly 4GB macbook air i5's).

We're interested in M1, but too many bugs in Big Sur right now (and limitations with parallels), and too many limitations for M1 hardware (mainly external displays).   Hopefully by summer 2021 these issues will be resolved.

  • Older machines on Mojave, Catalina was too problematic so skipped right to Big Sur. So far, so good on Intel.

  • My Mac is just my spare machine for when I need some Mac support questions etc so I waited a bit and bumped it to Big Sur after a while.
