  • omg great idea for the next Spiceworld:

Highlander style last man standing to finally decide the eternal question: Which is the best AV?

Live on stage, kilts compulsory wear.

But next year, everyone will be back saying they're aliens.

Plenty of sequels to use as inspiration!

  • Wonder how this will affect prizes. Those growlers are something that I was hoping to get someday. Drew (Webroot)

  • Well we will have to see how this plays out.  I'm usually not a fan of these mergers.  Usually the company getting acquired gets swallowed up and loses all identity.  I had a great conversation with a Carbonite Rep at SpiceWorld 2018 and they seem like a good group of people. I have never used their products or dealt with sales or support from them so I can't comment on how good they really are.  I am a Webroot customer and have been very happy with my experience from sales to install to support.  My biggest fear is all of that will go out the window.  Support will go downhill, the pricing will increase, and I will be slammed with salespeople pushing me to use their backup solution to bring everything under one umbrella.  I really do hope for the best outcome for us existing customers, but I wouldn't also be surprised to be shopping for new A/V soon™.

I'm going to do my best to ensure the growlers live on!

  • And they picked one of the only A/Vs that is definition less, so it won't check any of the files or data for infection.  And it will let you email virus' to your clients without your knowledge!

  • Please don't change the WEBROOT name.  I have been talking trash about Carbonite for years. Especially  after multiple clients have failed to get critical files back.

  • I wouldn't mind but Carbonite is looking to modify the product. We're looking at moving our solution to ESET in the future if Carbonite fails at this. Their backup plans are not enterprise grade whatsoever. It's like how when AVG took it's reg cleaners and built them into their product.. ruined the whole thing for a lot of people.

  • My biggest concern is good company that is growing gets bought out by established company that doesn't seem to be making any substantial changes on their own, and then changes the good company... =\.

Seen it happen so many times, REALLY hope it doesn't happen to Webroot too.
