  • I have a "client meeting" calendar built into my SharePoint 2010 foundation server which is also home to our client contacts.
When the assistants book a meeting or event based on a client's file, they invite the respective team members that need to be in it as well as the "client meetings" contact. This sends an invite to the SP client meeting calendar where I then manually assign a client to it using a drop down lookup based on the client contacts list, as well as the type of meeting that it is. This allows us to lookup all the past and future events on that file. The are a few custom workflows in the backend to automate some of the information between other lists (ie incoming call notes, ticklers on the file, etc) but the essentials are already there from the details of the invite.
My next step is to create a form in Outlook to allow them to assign the clients ID as well as the meeting type in order to expedite and automate the entries. After that, I'm hoping to build a client portal that allows them to login and see what's going on in their file and download/digitally sign documents.
