  • We would be interested as well.

Maybe something "West Michigan" so we can snag some SW members from Holland, K-Zoo, Lansing, etc.

We MAY be able to provide a venue...we'll have to see.

@ Ashley....I'll try and make it to the webinar next Friday.

  • How about the Detroit Area?

  • I agree with the, "West Michigan" focus.  Detroit is technically another market, but I think what really matters is the actual meeting location and whether someone is willing to drive.  I drive several hours for another, quarterly "Midwest" users group.

  • We are still very interested as well......seriously.  But we have so many projects going on right now that we haven't had time to breathe really.

HOPING that by August we will be caught up, fires out, projects completed, etc.  Then we'll be able to devote the necessary time and resources.  :-)

Technology groups in the Grand Rapids area? Where.. Where... didn't know people were interested in this kind of thing here !!

Health care is a growing IT market since the passing of the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010.  One of the Act's goals is to improve the quality of reporting.  It describes new and expanded reporting by the medical community that will be performed electronically.  :)

I love electrons, especially when they make up one and zeros.

CompTIA even has a Healthcare IT certificate

Visit the West Michigan Network Technology Users Group website where you will find a list of twenty more West Michigan user groups.

  • I would very much be interested in a meeting group.  I am a new user and have just installed it.  Seems like it will be very helpful once I have it configured properly but am having trouble getting it all set up right now.  If anyone has some free time and could help me that would be great!!

The planes fly low over our building but I bet you can actually walk to the airports' observation area for lunch.  JEALOUS!

  • ok if people would like to meet and talk about it.. lets find a day in the middle of july and talk face to face. I have a 200 user network with 12 servers that I run all by myself in Spring Lake. I live northeast of Grand Rapids. I am thinking downtown somplace that would have free WI-FI available and free parking. Like Burger King or Big Boy. at the Pearl street exit. I have installed and played with the software but I am not a Guru yet. I do not think i even have the newest version yet.

  • As always, I have the space here....just seriously short on time.

In the middle of a PTP fiber connection installation between campuses and new campus construction on Knapp, East of the Beltline.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the first week of September will allow some much needed breathing room.  But, as of now, if things aren't trucking by then for something GR, I'll start banging something out to gather here in Sept.  ")

  • New to Spiceworks and very interested in a West Michigan (preferably GR) SpiceCorps.  Most networking opportunities I see are focused on enterprises with much larger budgets than mine.  I feel like a fish out of water.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to be part of the leadership right now.

  • Howdy All,  I don't know who is still following this, but I saw this post while looking for more information about the a SpiceCorp in your area for someone else.

I didn't see it noted previously in this post so I decided to toss it out there in case future people see the post and are looking.  There is now a SpiceCorp in Barry County which is pretty close to Grand Rapids.

You can find the link to their SpiceCorp page here:

  • Don't worry guys... I got this!

Seems everyone from as far back as 2011 is too busy or lost the spark to get this going. I'm familiar with starting meetups and events, but I know it's never a one man show. We have far too many IT Guys in Grand Rapids / West Michigan area to NOT have an awesome SpiceCorps group.

Spice this up, lets get this going again, message me. I'll organize this.

If we hold our first meetup in June we can grow it out over the summer and have a good sized SpiceCorp by Fall 2016. I want to drag a few of you with me to SpiceWorld 2016!
