  • Yes, please spice up Ivan's entry so I can go back to London next year!   Thank you!  :-)

  • Just putting on the "official I'm a party pooper" - the guest has to be from Europe too... as this is a contest to get more European Spiceheads to SpiceWorld London.

    Sorry guys.

  • I don't see anywhere in the T&C that the guest has to be a European citizen.

Also, since my guest will be in the UK at the time of the event, any transportation costs will be the same as mine.  In fact, I think we could get first class rail travel and still be within budget!

  • Apologies Ivan, but as the contest is open to residents in the countries indicated, the guest pass may only be used by someone who is resident (not visiting) the guest country... the whole point of this contest being to get more people from Europe to bring their colleagues... and for them to come to both the brewing and SpiceWorld... which won't be at the same time.

That does depend on how you quantify resident. Any time spent in the country, even as a visitor counts towards residency requirements for visa purposes.

  • From the competition page:

Flight/Train ticket for you plus a fellow IT pro of your choice to SpiceWorld London 2016.

I have read and re-read the T&C, and can not find anything which says the guest must be from a certain country either.

Since my entry is currently in 3rd place, you probably don't need to do anything, but in future, I suggest you get a UK/EU lawyer to draft the T&C to make it clear that the guest must also be a legal resident.  I also note that the contest is governed exclusively by US Law (first paragraph of the T&C).

    Not with that attitude.

  • Sorry guys, we've done a lot for US Spiceheads over the years... we're trying to show some of that love to your European cousins.

I'm sorry if the language wasn't clearer.

I'm sorry. We do still love you. Just renounce your America citizenship and move to the UK. It's nearly as warm and nice as where you are. Sometimes.

No need to renounce, dual citizenship is a possibility (just takes a few years).
