A little system that I purchased a few years back and originally install Windows Server 2008 R2 on, along with Hyper-V. Set up several virtuals that included XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Windows 7. Did not do much with it and when Server 2012 R2 became available, I wiped the system and started from scratch. This is definitely a work in progress and have found that doing this install was pretty straight forward with little or no issues, other than the integrated network card would NOT work with 2012 R2, therefore picked up a cheap ethernet card and got it online rather quickly once it was installed. System had 8GB of mem along with 2.750TB of storage.
*** Update a/o 03/09/2018 - It's time to upgrade! New HPE Microserver Gen10 is on the way, can't wait to get it up and going.
This will be an ongoing project as I've had to back off for quite a long time in order to focus on my Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) Advocate job starting October 2015 until present, but now I'm in the mood to continue on the work, now having two physical servers to mess with and however many virtuals I need to practice with.
*** To be continued....
